Porvorim: Chief minister Pramod Sawant told the state legislative assembly on Tuesday that onshore and offshore casino operators owe govt more than Rs 350 crore. Sawant gave the written reply in response to the question by the opposition leader Yuri Alemao.Of the dues, maximum amount is owed by onshore casinos, he said, adding that notices and timely reminders were sent to all defaulters. There are 18 on shore casinos and six offshore casinos in the state. The three non-operational onshore casinos together owe close to Rs 250 crore. “Some defaulted in payment since the Covid pandemic,” the chief minister said.
