Colva: Colva police registered an offence against four people and over 150 unidentified individuals for allegedly forming an unlawful assembly, trespassing onto a property, damaging fencing, stealing equipment, issuing threats and using abusive language in Cavelossim.Police said Margao resident Sandeep Shinde lodged a complaint on Friday alleging that James D’Costa, Jane D’Costa, Shelton Fernandes and Paul Lobo, along with over 150 people, unlawfully assembled and provoked him.According to the complaint, the accused allegedly damaged bamboo fencing, tin sheets and pre-cast poles surrounding Shinde’s property, causing an estimated loss of Rs 60,000.Police said the accused also allegedly trespassed onto the property and stole a welding machine, grinder, electrical wires and a drill, collectively valued at around Rs 1.5 lakh.The accused allegedly threatened Shinde’s staff and contractor with dire consequences and used abusive language.Colva police registered the offence on Sep 14 under provisions of the BNS, 2023.
