Gurgaon: A 52-year-old man died allegedly after being hit by a car while crossing Gurgaon-Delhi Expressway near Bilaspur Chowk on Monday. A case has been registered against the driver of the car, who allegedly fled the spot after the collision.The man, Krishan Kumar, was a resident of Tejpura Mohalla in Rewari. According to the complaint filed by Kumar’s wife, Renubala, the couple was travelling towards Bilaspur on their motorcycle for some work. As it started raining, they stopped near the Bilaspur flyover.Renubala told police that since they were thirsty, Kumar got off the motorcycle and began crossing the road to fetch water. This was when a speeding car hit him. He fell on the road and suffered serious injuries. The car stopped briefly after the collision before leaving the spot, Renubala alleged.With the help of passersby, Renubala took Kumar to Civil Hospital, Rewari, where doctors declared him dead.Police said they received information about the accident on Aug 24 and a team reached the hospital. Kumar had already been brought there dead. As it was late, police could not record Renubala’s statement.On Aug 25, Renubala submitted a written complaint. The complaint alleged that the driver had been driving at high speed and in a negligent manner, resulting in the fatal collision. Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered at Bilaspur police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS.Police said further investigation is underway. The owner of the car will be called to establish who was driving it at the time of the accident before further action is taken.
