Patna: Three people died in a head-on collision between a car and a motorcycle on the Bahadurganj–Thakurganj (NH-327E) road in Kishanganj late Friday night. The deceased were identified as bike rider Shadab Alam (30), a resident of Tarabari, and pedestrians Shah Alam (26) and Nazir Ahmed, both from Khaikhat.According to police, the incident occurred near Khaikhat Chowk when Shadab was heading towards Lohagadda from his home for urgent work after the Taraweeh prayer. A fast-moving four-wheeler coming from the Thakurganj direction hit his motorcycle head-on. Shadab died on the spot, while the two injured pedestrians were taken to a nearby hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The car driver fled the spot with the vehicle.On being informed, Bahadurganj police station in-charge Sandeep Kumar, Pauakhali police station in-charge Ankit Kumar Singh, and ADPO Gautam Kumar reached the spot with their teams and began an investigation. The bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem, and the motorcycle was seized for further investigation. One injured person is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital, police said.SHO Sandeep Kumar said that the families of the deceased was informed, and the bodies were handed over to them after the post-mortem. “A detailed probe is underway, and efforts are on to trace the car’s driver. An FIR for rash and negligent driving has been lodged, and officials are examining CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and its registration details,” he added.
