Bahadurgarh: A speeding canter ploughed into pedestrians and rammed multiple vehicles in Haryana’s Bahadurgarh on Monday, killing three people and injuring four others. The driver, who attempted to flee, has been arrested, police said.The incident occurred around 12:30 pm at Mama Chowk on the busy Delhi-Rohtak road. According to police and eyewitnesses, the vehicle first mowed down two daily-wage labourers crossing the road, killing them on the spot. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated, hitting several others before crushing a motorcycle near the bypass. The motorcyclist, Yogendra (30), died on the spot, while his associate Praveen was critically injured. The rampage continued as the canter rammed an autorickshaw, injuring three occupants. The chaos ended only when the vehicle lost control and got wedged between pillars under the Najafgarh flyover. The driver abandoned the truck but was tracked down via registration details and arrested. The deceased were identified as Ashok (32) and Shambhu (22), both residents of Chhapra in Bihar, and Yogendra (30). One of the injured, Prem, has been referred to PGIMS, Rohtak, in critical condition. A case has been registered and a probe is under way.
