Kanpur: A 30-year-old man was killed and his father seriously injured when a bull attacked them while they were protecting their maize crop from stray cattle in Paigambarpur village under the Makhi police station area of Unnao on Saturday morning.According to police, Jagdish and his father, Rajju (62), had gone to their field with sticks after stray cattle entered it and began damaging the crop.While they were trying to drive the cattle away, a bull attacked Rajju. When Jagdish rushed to save his father, the animal gored him in the stomach, seriously injuring both men.Hearing their cries, nearby villagers rushed to the field, drove away the cattle and took the injured men to Miyaganj Community Health Centre, where doctors declared Jagdish dead.Rajju was referred to the district hospital due to his critical condition.Makhi SHO Yogesh Kumar Singh said Jagdish’s body had been sent for postmortem examination.
