Hyderabad: Seeking legal status for six guarantees announced by Congress, BRS has proposed a private member bill in the assembly on Monday. BRS working president KT Rama Rao and other MLAs met speaker G Prasad Kumar and handed over the draft bill copy to him. They urged his cooperation in passage of the private member bill.Speaking to reporters, KT Rama Rao said BRS has moved the private bill on behalf of all sections of the state, including farmers, women, students, govt employees and youth. He said Congress should also cooperate with BRS in passing the bill. He said in the past, during the NTR govt’s tenure, a private member bill was introduced by then BJP MLA Ch Vidyasagar Rao in 1986 and was approved by the govt, demonstrating sincerity towards the people. The tradition of govt approving private member bills already exists in the state.KTR said Congress party, which indiscriminately promised six guarantees, 11 declarations and 420 assurances to secure votes, trapped and deceived four crore people with their guarantee trickery.
