Hyderabad: BRS said the party’s victory march will begin from Jagtial (which was earlier part of Karimnagar district) again after the public meeting to be held on April 20. Former Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy will join BRS in the presence of BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao at the meeting. BRS working president KT Rama Rao and deputy floor leader T Harish Rao, along with other leaders, reviewed the arrangements for the public meeting on Saturday.KCR started the separate Telangana movement with a public meeting, ‘Simha Garjana’, and launched TRS (now BRS) in Karimnagar on May 17, 2001.Speaking to reporters, BRS working president KTR said as BRS planned a massive public meeting on April 20 in Jagtial and KCR would address the public meeting after a year, the state govt was trying to create hurdles for the meeting. “Revanth Reddy, who did not go to Medigadda for two years, is now planning to go there the same day, only to divert the attention of the people,” KTR said. He said Revanth Reddy, who failed to implement the promises he made to the people, was now resorting to silly politics ahead of the Jagtial public meeting.Harish Rao said Jeevan Reddy’s decision to join BRS would significantly strengthen the party in north Telangana. He said that the political mood in the state was clearly shifting, with people increasingly saying, “Revanth Reddy must go, KCR must return.”“Remarks on Telangana are an insult to its people”Harish Rao strongly condemned BJP MP Tejasvi Surya for comparing Telangana’s formation with India-Pakistan partition, calling it an insult to the self-respect of four crore people of the state. “Telangana was formed constitutionally under Article 3 after a long democratic struggle. Insulting its formation is an insult to the sacrifices of its people,” he said.He criticised Union minister Kishan Reddy for defending the remarks instead of condemning them and demanded an unconditional apology from BJP. Harish Rao termed the silence of Congress and BJP MPs from Telangana as “deeply disappointing”, questioning why they failed to defend the state’s dignity in Parliament. He pointed out that BRS MPs in the Rajya Sabha strongly countered misleading statements by Union ministers and ensured corrections in official records.
