Nagpur: A road rage over a headlight glare sparked a knife attack on two brothers from North Nagpur on Friday afternoon in Sudam Nagar, close to Yashodhanagar police station.Shahrukh Hussain (30) and his brother Aqib Hussain (28), decoration traders, were heading to work in their goods carrier when its bright beams allegedly annoyed two bikers — Sahil Asrafi and Sajju alias Sahzil Saeed Khan. A verbal duel escalated into violence when Sajju allegedly sliced Shahrukh’s ear and stabbing him in the back with a knife. When Aqib intervened he too was allegedly punched, kicked, and stabbed. Police said Sahil and Sajju also called up their accomplices Arwaz Khan, Mohammad Ayub Ghos, and Jahangir Khan Jabbar Khan. Both the profusely bleeding brothers were rushed to Mayo Hospital.Shahrukh needed stitches on his ear while Aqib’s back and shoulder wounds are deep. Doctors say they’re out of danger but face a long recovery period. Yashodhanagar cops have registered offence against five persons for attempt to murder and causing grievous hurt. Senior inspector Sandeep Buwa of Yashodhara nagar police station said the five accused have been arrested. “We are in the process of recovering the weapons. The complainant or the accused do not have criminal records,” said Buwa.
