New Delhi: Brainlab and Amrita Hospital Faridabad have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up North India’s first Centre of Excellence for Brain & Spine.
“The facility will be used for complex operations on the brain and spine, as well as a platform for clinical training, technology demonstrations and the sharing of knowledge between surgeons and health care professionals,” the two organisations said.

The centre will be based on Brianlab’s Loop-X, a robotic mobile imaging system providing 2D and 3D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images inside the operating room.
The process called intraoperative imaging allows the surgeon to visualise the anatomy, verify the placement of any implants and acquire new images as necessary.
“The technology can supply surgical teams with current anatomical information, without the interruption of traditional imaging outside the OR that disrupts the operative workflow, by combining intraoperative images with Brainlab’s navigation ecosystem,” the medtech company explained.
