Hyderabad: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Saturday said he would transform the Nalgonda constituency into a lush green area through the Brahmana Vellemla project. The minister, who laid the foundation stone for new minor canal works from Kondapaka Gudem to Appajipet on Saturday, also rode a two-wheeler to inspect irrigation canals and inquire about farmers’ issues.“Through this project, we will ensure that all the lakes in the Nalgonda constituency are filled and provide irrigation to every acre,” the minister said. Describing the Brahmana Vellemla project as a boon for the people of the constituency, he added that the canal water from the project would bring joy to farmers. “Nalgonda constituency is like a heart to me. I will develop it as a role model for development for other districts,” he said.The minister stated that the project would increase groundwater levels and ensure that every lake in the constituency is filled. As a result, the agricultural area in the constituency would expand further, he added. The minister said that the Congress govt is working in all possible ways for the welfare of farmers. He instructed the officials concerned to complete the branch canal works in Appajipeta village at the earliest.
