Jaipur: A 14-year-old boy from Govind Nagar in Brahmpuri died by suicide after allegedly being harassed by friends who demanded money from him following a dispute. He consumed poison in front of his father on July 3 and died during treatment three days later. The family registered a police complaint on July 17 after discovering chat messages on his phone.The victim, a Class 9 student, returned home from school on July 3 and consumed poison inside his house. CCTV footage reviewed by the family showed the boy pacing through different rooms, including the kitchen, before unscrewing a bottle of poison, sniffing it, and hesitating. He then walked to the veranda, where his father was seated, and said, “I’m leaving,” before ingesting the liquid.According to police, the boy confided in his father moments before ingesting the poison, telling him he was being harassed by his peers. The boy’s friends allegedly filed a counter-complaint over a fight and were demanding Rs 2 lakh to withdraw it.
