Kolkata, Dec 27 (IANS) Three people were killed in a road accident caused by dense fog in West Bengal’s Alipurduar district on Saturday.

Ranchi: A seven-year-old boy was crushed to death in Ormanjhi on Friday after a truck hit the scooter in which he was travelling with his mother. The deceased Sahil Kumar Verma was a student of Mount Carmel School. Sahil’s mother, who was driving the scooter, had a narrow escape. Police said the driver and his helper fled the spot.People blocked the road, demanding arrest of the culprits and compensation to the affected family. The protest was withdrawn after assurances from the administration. SP Gaurav Goswami stated, “The truck driver and his helper fled from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle. Police are taking necessary steps to apprehend them.”
