Chennai: A 10-year-old boy was killed in a road accident in Pallikaranai on Sunday morning after a speeding water tanker collided with the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion with his father.The victim, Ram, was the only son of Subramani, 39, an IT professional. According to officials from Pallikaranai traffic investigation wing, the accident occurred around 8:30am on Velachery Main Road. Police said a private water tanker was travelling behind their motorcycle. As another bike approached from the opposite direction, Subramani attempted to avoid a collision by swerving. In doing so, the motorcycle came into contact with the tanker. The impact threw Subramani off the vehicle, while Ram fell beneath the tanker’s wheels and died on the spot. Subramani suffered injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. TNN
