Ponda: Borim villagers accused of trespassing at Shree Saibaba Temple, Avede Borim, on Monday refuted allegations made by the temple management committee, claiming they took over the premises to prevent alleged mismanagement of temple funds.“We are not mad to break locks. We took over the temple to stop misuse of funds,” said Akshay T Naik, who led the villagers, at a press conference held on the temple premises.Naik claimed no locks were broken and said police had verified them. He alleged the committee maintained an undisclosed bank account in Ponda to divert funds and said facilities at the temple were created during his tenure before 2023. The villagers also alleged the committee took control of the temple in 2023.
