Professional golf can be a lonely exercise, especially if you are the sole participant from your country on a tour. Ahmad Baig, the only Pakistan golfer on the current Asian Tour, does experience that feeling of loneliness at times, particularly when his Indian and Thai on-field rivals form their own groups to unwind.

But sport, being a great unifier, has brought the 27-year-old closer to the Indian ‘gang’.
