Bokaro: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Bokaro Steel City railway station seized 23 bottles of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from Kosi Super Express. A passenger was detained for attempting to smuggle the consignment into Bihar, officials said.Santosh Kumar, the officer-in-charge of the RPF post, said the operation was carried out during a routine inspection of the train. “Members of the train escorting party alerted RPF personnel about a suspicious trolley bag lying unattended near Seat number 17 in Coach B-1,” he said.During the inquiry, a passenger identified as Nitish Kumar, 23, a resident of Karua village in Saharsa district of Bihar, claimed ownership of the bag. “Upon searching the bag, 23 bottles of IMFL were recovered. The total estimated value of the seized liquor is around Rs 34,450,” Santosh said.During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted that the liquor was being transported to Bihar. “The seized liquor and the detained individual will be handed over to the excise department for further legal action,” he said.
