Bokaro: Ground works for the 2027 census have begun in Bokaro district as officials are being trained to carry out house listing and housing enumeration using tablet and mobile-based applications for digital data collection. On Wednesday, a training session was held at the DPRC building auditorium, which was inaugurated by DC Ajay Nath Jha. Addressing officials and technical assistants, the DC highlighted the importance of the census exercise, stating that it plays a crucial role in shaping future govt policies and development plans. He said, “The upcoming census will rely heavily on digital technology, with enumerators collecting information directly through mobile devices and tablets instead of traditional paper forms. The adoption of this system is expected to make the data collection process faster, more accurate and more transparent.”The DC advised officers, including block development officers (BDOs), circle officers (COs) and technical assistants, to carefully understand the digital tools and procedures during the training sessions. He also urged them to resolve any doubts with trainers so that field-level operations can be conducted smoothly without technical difficulties.“During the training, officials are being familiarised with the use of mobile applications, digital data entry procedures and methods of uploading information in real time. Trainers are also explaining how the digital system will help minimise errors and ensure better monitoring of census activities,” said the DC.Officials said that once trained, the officers and staff will conduct house listing and housing enumeration in their respective areas as part of the first phase of Census 2027.
