Kanpur: The body of a 26-year-old woman, who had been missing since Saturday evening, was found floating in a pond in Haiderpur village of Auraiya’s Ajitmal area on Sunday morning.According to police, the deceased, Shivani, was spotted by children playing near the pond on the northern side of the village. They alerted locals, who pulled the body out of the water.Police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for postmortem examination.The woman’s mother told police that Shivani had a history of epileptic seizures since childhood and was not usually allowed to move far from home alone.Station in charge Vinod Kumar Rajput said the exact cause of death would be ascertained after the postmortem report. Further legal proceedings are underway.
