Gurgaon: The body of an unidentified man was found inside a concrete cable pipe on a vacant plot in Badshapur on Sunday morning with severe injuries to his face and strangulation marks on his neck, police said.Police received a call regarding the body around 8.30am on Sunday.“Prima facie, it appears to be a murder case. The face of the deceased, was smashed with a stone, possibly to prevent identification,” an officer said. Stones covered with blood were found close to the site. The deceased is suspected to be between 20 and 30 years old.Police believe the deceased was killed by strangulation and then his body was dumped in the vacant plot.The body has been sent for an autopsy, which will determine the exact cause and timing of death.Investigators are examining CCTV footage from roads and establishments near the area to trace the deceased‘s movement and identify any suspects or vehicles involved in dumping the body.Missing persons records from Gurgaon and nearby districts are also being checked to establish the deceased’s identity.The officer said an FIR will be registered after further investigation. “We are trying to identify the deceased, after which the family will need to be traced,” he added.
