Daltonganj: The body of a middle-aged man was recovered from the main Mohammadganj-Haidernagar canal by Haidernagar police on Saturday, sources said. Police suspect it was carried by the swirling waters of the North Koyel river before reaching the canal.SDPO Hussainabad Divyansh Shukla said nothing was recovered from the pockets of the deceased’s clothes that could help establish his identity, address or any other detail. Police said that with the Mohammadganj barrage gates open, it is difficult to determine the direction from which the body may have travelled.Sources said around 12 panchayats in Haidernagar block have been alerted to help identify the deceased. As the body remains unidentified, police said it was sent to the higher centre, MMCH Daltonganj.
