Hazaribag: The body of a 24-year-old man, identified as Sunny Yadav of Kishanpur locality in Ward 22 in Chatra district, was recovered from a well near the bus stand under Sadar police station limits on Thursday. According to his father, Bharat Yadav, Sunny had left home on Wednesday afternoon and did not return. His phone remained unreachable when family members tried contacting him at night. The family alleged that Sunny was murdered by his friends and his body dumped in the well. After initial resistance, the family agreed to a postmortem following police intervention. Police said further action would depend on the family’s complaint and postmortem findings. ASI Dukhi Ram Mahto said, “Police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. Further investigation would be conducted on the basis of the written complaint submitted by the family and the postmortem report.”
