Ajmer: Tension prevailed in Pushkar Friday morning after two bodies were found floating in Pushkar Lake. Priests offering morning prayers at the lake spotted the bodies and informed the police, officials said.A police team reached the spot around 6 am and recovered the bodies, which were later sent to JLN Hospital for post-mortem.Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased were a man and a woman, believed to be around 25 to 30 years old. Police suspect the bodies were two to three days old.While no identification documents were found on the man, police recovered an Aadhaar card from the woman’s clothing. Efforts are underway to establish the identities of both individuals.Police teams have been visiting hotels and guesthouses in Pushkar to check whether any guests have been reported missing in the last few days.Pushkar SHO Vikram Singh Rathore said the bodies have been kept in the mortuary and police are investigating all possible angles. “Our immediate priority is to establish the identities of the deceased, which will help move the investigation forward. We are also awaiting the post-mortem report,” he said.
