Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man was seriously injured after his speeding car crashed into a goods vehicle and caught fire on the Bairamalguda flyover in LB Nagar in the early hours of Monday.The accident occurred around 1.30am. Police said Sai Keerthan Reddy, a businessman from Rock Town Colony, was driving a BMW towards LB Nagar in a rash and negligent manner when he rammed into the rear of a coal-laden DCM truck.Due to the impact, the car went out of control. It hit the flyover railing and immediately caught fire. All three occupants in the car managed to rush out before the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The car was completely gutted within minutes.Locals alerted the police and fire department. Firefighters, along with Disaster Response Force personnel, reached the spot and doused the blaze.LB Nagar circle inspector Vinod Kumar said there were no fatalities. The driver sustained a head injury and was shifted to a private hospital for treatment, while the two other occupants escaped unhurt.A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. By the time police arrived, the injured driver had already been shifted to hospital, and it remains unclear whether he was under the influence of alcohol.
