Bengaluru: Ahead of the upcoming inauguration of Namma Metro’s Pink Line, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has proposed an expansion of its feeder bus services, alongside new digital ticketing integrations.The transport utility will deploy five dedicated feeder routes and compact 7-metre buses for narrow lanes, with real-time transit data.BMTC will deploy 30 buses to complete 415 daily trips with a 10-minute peak frequency. The routes will connect critical Metro stations and surrounding activity centres in areas such as Hulimavu, Tavarekere, Jayadeva Hospital, JP Nagar, and Uttarahalli. The planned services include routes like the MF-18 J linking Jayadeva Hospital Metro Station to Uttarahalli, MF-18 JT connecting Jayadeva Hospital to Tavarekere Metro Station, MF-18 JP ring route via IIMB Metro Station, MF-22 HS connecting Hulimavu Metro Station to Singasandra, and MF-18 T ring route linking Tavarekere Metro Station through Jayanagar and Banashankari.BMTC clarified that it already maintains an extensive network extending past Kalena Agrahara — Pink Line’s southern terminal — operating 114 buses across 545 daily trips along Bannerghatta Road, Anekal, and Jigani.BMTC and BMRCL are also planning to facilitate the display of real-time bus arrival information at Pink Line Metro stations through API-based data integration and sharing.Under the proposed arrangement, information on the expected arrival of BMTC buses at the nearby bus stops will be made available to passengers at Metro stations, helping them plan their onward journeys more effectively.
