Varanasi: As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the special intensive revision of photo electoral rolls for the legislative assembly is currently underway. According to the schedule fixed by the commission, Feb 22 is the date for reading the voter list at booths. All booth level officers (BLOs) will be present at the polling stations from 10.30am to 4.30pm with the ASD/uncollectable list, and will read the draft voter list and receive forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8.Additional district magistrate (administration)/deputy district election officer, Bipin Kumar, said that the district election officer, deputy district election officer, all electoral registration officers and assistant electoral registration officers, as well as supervisory officers, will visit the booths. If any BLO is found absent during the visit, legal action will be taken against them under the relevant sections of the Representation of the People Act.All educational institutions, offices and other institutions in the district where polling stations are established will remain open. He appealed to the general public that on Jan 18, they can go to their designated booth and check their name in the published draft voter list. Those who completed 18 years of age on Jan 1, and whose name is not yet registered in the voter list, can be present at their polling centre and submit form-6 along with a declaration (annexure-4) in the prescribed format (for new voters), form-7 (for deletion of a name from the voter list), and form-8 (for correction or transfer of an entry in the voter list), with complete details and necessary documents attached, to the BLO.Voters can also fill in and submit form-6, form-7 and form-8 online.
