Ara: Government Engineering College (GEC), Bhojpur, has launched a six-day training programme on blockchain technology in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Patna.The programme, being conducted from July 20 to 25, has been organised by the college’s training and placement cell for fourth-semester students of the computer science and engineering and electronics and communication engineering departments, training and placement officer Amritanshu Raushan said on Monday.Addressing the participants, Raushan said blockchain is among the most transformative technologies driving the digital economy. He said industry-oriented training programmes help students acquire in-demand technical skills, enhancing their employability and placement prospects.Dean Pankaj Srivastava highlighted the growing importance of Industry 4.0 technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) and data analytics. He encouraged students to develop expertise in these emerging fields to meet the evolving demands of global industries and build future-ready careers.Appreciating the initiative, Principal Anamika said such skill-development programmes are crucial for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. She urged students to make the most of the training and continuously upgrade their technical skills.The inaugural session was attended by Ankit Kumar, scientist-C, NIELIT Patna; principal Anamika; dean Pankaj Srivastava; training and placement officer Amritanshu Raushan; programme coordinator Guriya Kumari; and Suresh Kumar Gaddi.The session was anchored by sixth-semester students Varun Kumar and Anjali. Faculty members Ankita, Sujata Suman, Rashmi and Priyadarshini, along with a large number of students, were also present.
