Prayagraj: A 45-year-old shiksha mitra, who was working as a booth level officer (BLO) for SIR duty in Fatehpur, allegedly hanged himself inside a primary school at Aliyabad village on Saturday. His family alleged he was upset over being denied leave for his daughter’s wedding on March 8.The deceased, Akhilesh Kumar Savita, is survived by his wife, minor daughter and son.Fatehpur ASP MP Singh told TOI that they are probing the sequence of events that led to the BLO’s suicide. He said, “The victim was cremated on Sunday, and police are compiling all facts and evidence regarding the incident.” The case came to light on Saturday, when an acquaintance found the BLO hanging at the school. He alerted the family members, who rushed him to a hospital, but he had already died.The family claimed the BLO left a suicide note, stating he was overwhelmed by work and taking this step as official duties had left his daughter’s wedding preparations incomplete.
