Blake Shelton shut down the divorce rumors in the best way possible this Valentine’s Day. The American country music star posted a photo of himself kissing Gwen Stefani on the cheek, both of them smiling in matching camouflage outfits. He captioned the photo as: “Happy Valentine’s Day @gwenstefani. My favorite person.. I love you pretty girl!!!!!”It was simple, sweet, and everything their fans needed to see and hear. Sure, tabloids of late have stirred up a lot of drama and speculations about these two, but their public display of affection felt like a pretty clear message: they’re good.

The Valentine’s Day effect

The timing wasn’t lost on anyone, either. Just a month ago, Blake talked openly about all the talk swirling around their marriage. He sounded almost amused when he explained how every week the rumors flip-flop — one minute they’re breaking up, the next they’re spotted together at the grocery store, and suddenly everything’s fine.“Starting in October, I think, or maybe November, I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’” Shelton told Country Countdown USA in January. “‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, a week later a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store: ‘They’re back together again!’”As E! News reported, the 49-year-old also noted that the rumor mill can be an endless cycle, quipping, “Another week goes by and we’re not seen at the grocery store: ‘They’re divorcing!’”Yes — it does sound exhausting, but Shelton did not let himself be affected by those rumors.Meanwhile, Gwen’s been just as open about how much Blake means to her. The ‘No Doubt’ frontwoman revealed in an interview that meeting her now-husband felt like she got a second chance at life, especially after her own family fell apart.“Meeting my husband felt like a second chance at life,” she told The Guardian in November 2024. “Because when my family fell apart, it felt like a catastrophe. How do you pick yourself up from that?”For her, Blake was the answer.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani: A look at their love story

The duo met back in 2014 as coaches on ‘The Voice’, both still reeling from divorces, Blake from Miranda Lambert, Gwen from Gavin Rossdale. What started as a friendship grew quickly. By 2015, they admitted they were a couple, and you could just see the genuine connection between them. In 2016, they put out a duet, ‘Go Ahead and Break My Heart’, and one could hear the real emotion in their voices. Blake popped the question in October 2020, after years of building a life together. They got married the following July at his ranch in Oklahoma, keeping it private but meaningful. It was less about the Hollywood spectacle and more about family, especially Gwen’s three sons from her previous marriage with Gavin Rossdale: Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. By all accounts, Blake’s stepped up as a devoted stepdad. However, people close to them say the kids really rely on him, and he takes that responsibility with utmost sincerity.
