The BJP leader while addressing party’s program here in Srinagar where several people joined BJP said that Article 370 was buried and is a history and this is why NC never mentioned it in its resolution in the J&K Assembly.
“NC manufactures a lie for each election. They decide all this in their kitchen to befool people of J&K. In 2024, NC promised that they will restore Article 370 if voted to power. And just after assuming the office Omar Abdullah said that they can’t be hopeful of restoration of Article 370 in the BJP dispensation,” said Sharma, urging people of Kashmir to stop supporting the ruling NC.
The BJP leader said that the NC government passed resolution for restoration of special status in the assembly, but the word ‘special status’ does not exist in the constitution of India especially for J&K.
“Then why is NC lying to Kashmiris and what will they restore, when there is no special status and Article 370 has been buried and is history now,” said Sharma.
The BJP leader wondered the people of Kashmir despite being politically astute are not “understanding or reacting” to the duplicity and duality of NC.” .
“Farooq Abdullah government (1996-2002) passed autonomy resolution and the BJP govt in Delhi in which his son Omar Abdullah was a junior minister in External Affairs Ministry threw the resolution in the dustbin. Why didn’t he resign then?” Sharma asked. The BJP leader from Kishtwar district of Chenab Valley of Jammu division alleged that the NC leadership goes to Delhi and advises the government to “continue iron fist policy for Kashmir as they cannot change.” “but they request that they should be allowed to beat their chest and lament to garner votes and do politics here on ground,” said Sharma.
The BJP leader said that the Abdullah family and Mufti family are the only two enemies of people of Kashmir. “If NC believes that those killed in 1931 revolt against Dogra ruler are martyrs then what about Wamiq Farooq and Tufail Matoo who were killed in the Omar Abdullah government in 2010,” Sharma asked.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured safety of life and security of the youngsters of Kashmir who would otherwise fall prey to bullet or stones.
“If BJP has given security to this youth NC should give them employment which they are outsourcing to private companies. They have outsourced 24000 jobs to private companies while one lakh daily wagera are waiting for regularisation for decades,” said Sharma.
He said that the BJP is not ready to shoulder the responsibility of J&K and promised to serve people humbly without arrogance. “BJP workers in Kashmir are different from another worker of the party across the country. They have strengthened the party despite threats and travelled a long distance from a reluctant participant to a proud member of the party,” said Sharma.
