Jaipur: BJP secured 12 out of 18 chairperson posts in civic bodies in Jaipur district, while Congress won six, with the results declared Tuesday for two municipal councils and 16 municipalities.BJP’s Ashish Dusad was elected chairperson of Chomu Municipal Council, while Ravi Khatana won in Shahpura. In the municipalities, BJP candidates elected as chairpersons included Santosh Chauhan in Bagru, Nirmala Kholiya in Bassi, Pushpa Devi in Chaksu, Rakesh Kumar Verma in Jamwaramgarh, Saroj Gurjar in Jobner, Urmila Kumawat in Kaladera, Sunita Agarwal in Kishangarh-Renwal, Raju Sharma in Phulera, Pawan Kumar Modi in Sambhar and Kamla Devi in Vatika.Congress won the chairperson posts in six municipalities. Garima Kanwar was elected in Dudu, Ram Kishan in Kanota, Sunita Saini in Khejroli, Arjun Mohanpuria in Manoharpur, Abdul Razzaq in Naraina and Suresh in Phagi.In Chaksu, BJP’s Pushpa Devi was elected unopposed.With Tuesday’s results, BJP has secured a clear majority of the chairperson posts across the 18 civic bodies in the district.
