Prayagraj: The ‘Pavan Mati Kalash Yatra’ was launched as part of the ‘Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday to mark the 650th birth anniversary year of Saint Ravidas. Sacred soil collected from Saint Ravidas’s birthplace, Seer Govardhanpur, was placed in a ‘kalash’ and carried on a chariot bearing the message of social harmony.Senior BJP leader Vivek Mishra said that the procession was flagged off from the BJP’s Civil Lines office on Friday and Kalash Yatra will conclude on August 10 after traversing all three assembly constituencies of city including Allahabad North, Allahabad South and Allahabad West. The procession will cover each constituency over a period of three days. A senior BJP functionary said the ‘Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ is a nationwide campaign aimed at taking the message of equality, fraternity, social justice, and harmony to every household.
