Shimla: Himachal BJP president Dr Rajeev Bindal on Saturday criticised the Sukhvinder Singh Sulhu govt, accusing it of wasting nearly 40 months blaming the saffron party instead of working for public welfare. The Congress govt failed to deliver concrete development for the people of Himachal Pradesh and instead focused on political blame games, Bindal stated in a press statement. He questioned why institutions such as schools, colleges, hospitals, primary health centres and veterinary hospitals were being shut down despite the govt reportedly taking loans of around Rs 45,000 crore. The BJP leader alleged that while the govt continued to make announcements in the name of development, basic services were being withdrawn from the public at the ground level.Bindal also accused the state govt of increasing the financial burden on citizens by imposing multiple taxes. According to him, value added tax (VAT) on diesel increased by Rs 7.50, along with hikes in stamp duty, water and electricity charges, ration depot prices and HRTC bus fares. He also criticised the sharp rise in entry tax rates, saying it would further increase inflation. Bindal also alleged that forest and mining mafias were operating freely in the state with political protection, while the law and order situation continued to deteriorate.MSID:: 129215751 413 |
