Singh claimed that governance had collapsed in Jharkhand, forcing citizens to live in fear. “Incidents of crime against women increased and insecurity among families has grown. Then, there are reports of child-lifting rumours, threats to traders, and kidnapping cases which have only added to anxiety among the public,” Singh said.Citing recent developments, Singh pointed to incidents such as firing near govt offices in Ranchi as evidence of deteriorating security conditions.“People of the state are distressed with the present govt and will respond through the ballot in the civic polls,” he said. Emphasising development as the BJP’s core agenda, Singh said the party is seeking votes on the basis of governance and infrastructure. He added that the kind of development witnessed in Gujarat could also be replicated in Jharkhand if BJP- supported candidates secure victory in urban local body elections.Meanwhile, BJP National minister Rituraj Sinha was camping in the district to co-ordinate campaign efforts. He held a meeting with members of the Kayastha community and appealed for support in favour of Sanjeev Kumar.
