New Delhi: The BJP on Thursday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing three-nation tour as a major diplomatic and strategic success, highlighting the proposed ₹5,400-crore BrahMos missile deal with Indonesia, critical minerals partnerships, and strategic infrastructure projects as key outcomes.

Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha said the BrahMos agreement with Indonesia would be India’s largest-ever defence export deal and make Jakarta the third country, after the Philippines and Vietnam, to procure the missile system.

Calling it a milestone for the Modi government’s “Make in India” push in defence manufacturing, Sinha said more such export agreements are expected.
He said agreements with Indonesia and Australia on critical minerals would strengthen India’s semiconductor, electric vehicle and renewable energy ambitions. Indonesia is among the world’s largest nickel producers, while Australia is a major source of rare earth minerals, he noted.

Sinha also underscored the agreement for the joint development of Sabang Port in Indonesia’s Aceh province, saying it would enhance India’s strategic presence in the Indo-Pacific due to its proximity to the Strait of Malacca, through which nearly 30% of global maritime trade passes. Viewed alongside the Great Nicobar Project, he said, it reflected India’s expanding strategic footprint in the region.
