CHENNAI: Former Union finance minister P Chidambaram on Saturday said BJP govt at the Centre is planning to bring a Constitutional amendment legislation to increase the number of seats in Parliament during the upcoming Parliament special session from April 16 to 18.Chidambaram told reporters in Karaikudi that BJP govt planned to conduct the Parliament session when elections were scheduled for Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. “It is being said in Delhi that BJP govt is planning to table a bill on delimitation of constituencies and another bill to increase the number of constituencies to 816,” said Chidambaram.“To pass these bills, a special majority is required and since it is election time in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, the MPs from the state will be busy campaigning, which will make it easier for BJP to pass the bill,” he said.
