Kanpur: Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav, during her visit to Jalaun, criticised the “double engine govt”, alleging that people were being forced to stand in queues for essential services.“From demonetisation to gas cylinders, the double engine govt has made the common man stand in queues. While the govt claims there is adequate stock of LPG, the ground reality is different and people are facing difficulties in getting gas cylinders,” she said.Referring to the ongoing wedding season, the Samajwadi Party leader said that shortage of gas cylinders, black marketing and rising prices have created hardships for the common people. “Corruption and unemployment are at their peak in the state. The BJP govt has only made people stand in lines and suffer,” she alleged. On controversy surrounding the use of the word ‘Pandit’ in the UP Police Sub-Inspector recruitment examination question paper, Yadav said senior leaders of the Brahmin community should raise the issue strongly before the govt. During the visit, Yadav attended the fourth mass marriage conference organised by Katheriya community in Jalaun as the chief guest. She blessed the newly married couples and also paid tribute to Kanshi Ram on his birth anniversary.Referring to 2016 demonetisation and the Covid-19 period, the MP said this was not the first time people had to stand in queues. “Earlier people stood in lines at banks and hospitals, and now they are forced to stand in queues for gas cylinders,” she said, alleging that the government was insensitive to public problems. Raising farmers’ issues, Yadav said there were earlier complaints of black marketing of fertilisers and farmers were not getting fertilisers easily. She claimed a similar situation had now emerged with gas cylinders and that rising inflation was increasing the difficulties faced by the common people.
