Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party is focusing on achieving momentum-based outcomes in the upcoming assembly elections, particularly in the southern states of Telangana and Karnataka. With both states scheduled to hold elections in 2028 within a six-month gap, party leaders are hoping that a win in Karnataka will be useful as a foundation to secure victory in Telangana. This strategy mirrors the Congress party’s approach, which won the Karnataka elections in early 2023 and then followed up with a victory in Telangana.Interestingly, PM Narendra Modi will arrive in Hyderabad after attending events in Karnataka on Sunday. Union home minister Amit Shah will also participate in a programme to honour Siddaramaiah for his 50 years in politics. It is also believed that the party’s national general secretary Sunil Bansal, who oversaw the West Bengal elections, will again be involved in Telangana. It is learnt that he is already in charge of the party affairs in Telangana.
