Vadodara: Congress and BJP workers clashed at the taluka panchayat office in Dabhoi on the final day for withdrawal of nominations.The scuffle broke out when Congress workers attempted to stop BJP MLA Shailesh Mehta and party workers from entering the office along with candidates who had come to withdraw their nomination paper.According to sources, Congress workers rushed towards Mehta and others after learning that a Dabhoi taluka panchayat candidate had arrived with them to withdraw nomination papers. A brief scuffle ensued, but the Congress workers failed to prevent the withdrawals.Following the withdrawals, the BJP secured two taluka panchayat seats — Lingsthali and Kundhela — uncontested. The party also won a seat in the Dabhoi municipality unopposed.
