Hyderabad: Congress on Tuesday hit back at BJP, accusing it of trying to derive political mileage from a suicide and a corpse with an eye on municipal elections, and said E Mahadevappa died by suicide due to internal politics and harassment by BJP leadership.Animal husbandry minister Vakiti Srihari, who won from the Makthal assembly constituency in the 2023 assembly polls, said he had directed the district SP to conduct an impartial inquiry and bring out the truth for the people of Telangana to know.“It is so bad that politics are being played when a life has been lost. Anyone involved in the unfortunate incident will not be spared. BJP leaders should stop making baseless allegations against me for political gains. Govt will support the family of Mahadevappa,” he said.Telangana Congress media and communications cell chairman Sama Ram Mohan Reddy alleged that Mahadevappa died by suicide due to internal politics and pressure from BJP leaders.“If Congress had either exerted pressure or harassed Mahadevappa, he would have gone to his BJP leaders for help. Mahadevappa may have died by suicide because he had no where to go as his own party leaders were exerting pressure on him,” Ram Mohan Reddy alleged.He demanded that BJP state president N Ramchander Rao and Mahabubnagar MP DK Aruna be held responsible for Mahadevappa’s suicide, and said the reasons for Mahadevappa’s death should come out. He also asked the BJP leaders to say what happened after Mahadevappa was given the ‘B’ form.
