Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday called upon voters in Kerala to realise that there is no difference between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.Addressing a roadshow in Nemom and other constituencies in Thiruvananthapuram, Revanth alleged that the BJP is attempting to transfer its votes to the LDF across Kerala. “PM Modi does not want to face Rahul Gandhi, the Gandhi family, and the Congress-led UDF,” he said.

He drew loud cheers from the crowd when he recited a popular dialogue by actor Mohanlal from the film ‘Narasimham’. “Nee po mone Dinesha, Nee po mone Vijaya — your time is over,” he said, in a remark aimed at Pinarayi Vijayan, who is seeking a third term. The AICC has appointed Revanth as one of the star campaigners for the Congress. He had also campaigned during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, in which the Congress-led UDF won 18 out of 20 seats in Kerala. On Wednesday, he held street-corner meetings in three Assembly constituencies, urging voters to support the UDF and Rahul Gandhi in his fight to uphold the Constitution against the BJP. He is scheduled to continue campaigning in more constituencies on Thursday.Revanth further stated that Kerala’s educated and aware electorate has historically prevented communal forces from gaining ground. “The Lakshman Rekha drawn by the people of Kerala has stopped the BJP and RSS from growing in the state,” he claimed. He alleged, “PM Modi does not want to accept defeat. He wants to ‘kidnap’ your future through Pinarayi Vijayan. This is why the BJP is trying to transfer its votes in Thiruvananthapuram.”He added that if the Congress-led UDF comes to power, it will implement welfare schemes, attract investments, and boost development. Referring to global conditions, he said, “With ongoing tensions in the Middle East, around 45 lakh Keralites working there may want to return. However, there are currently limited opportunities, industries, or infrastructure to support employment for them and the youth.”Revanth urged Kerala voters to decide who can bring development, industries, and job opportunities to the state.Kerala will go to the polls on April 9, with results to be announced on May 4, in a closely contested triangular battle between the ruling LDF, opposition UDF, and the BJP-led NDA.
