Gurgaon: A man died after a speeding concrete mixer truck hit and dragged his motorcycle on the Gurgaon-Farukhnagar road on Monday night. Police have launched a search for the truck driver, who fled the spot after the incident.The accident occurred around 9pm. Police said the victim, Gaurav, a resident of Balaji Colony in Farukhnagar, was on his way to SGT Hospital to deliver food to his mother when the incident took place.Gaurav’s brother-in-law Sunil Kumar, in his complaint, said Gaurav was riding a Honda Shine motorcycle when a rashly driven Tata mixer truck rammed into the vehicle. The impact dragged the motorcycle along the road, causing severe injuries to Gaurav.An emergency response vehicle team alerted the police, following which a team reached the spot and found the damaged motorcycle and the truck. The driver had fled, leaving the vehicle behind.Locals told police that the injured man had already been taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead.Both vehicles involved in the accident were seized, police said.Based on the complaint, a case was registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS at Farukhnagar police station. Police said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the driver.
