New Delhi: A 28-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run after his Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle was allegedly struck by a pickup truck that police suspect was being driven on the wrong side of the road in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka early Sunday. The truck driver is yet to be traced.Rohit, a resident of Najafgarh, worked as a bartender at private parties, police said. Following a PCR call around 3.25am, police reached the spot near Om Satyam Apartments in Dwarka’s Sector 4. Investigators said the motorcycle was found lodged under the front left wheel of the Mahindra Bolero CNG vehicle. Based on the position of the vehicles and the accident scene, police suspect the pickup had entered the road from the wrong side.Rohit was already shifted to Indira Gandhi Hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.Police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of BNS.The owner of the truck, Sunny Goel, told police that Mangal Singh was driving the vehicle. Singh, originally from Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh, stays in Najafgarh’s Mitraon village.
