Pune: Deccan Gymkhana police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving and rash and negligent act endangering human life against a 29-year-old motorcycle rider from Manjari after he drove his motorcycle rashly on the FC road at around 5.30am.According to the police, there were morning walkers and other people on the road. The passersby stopped him and requested him not to drive rashly when he abused them.The passersby then called up police control room, and police constable Shobha Desai, who was on night duty, reached the spot and asked him to visit the police station. However, instead of cooperating with her, he pulled out his mobile phone and started recording her claiming that he was a media person and he will record her video and upload it on the social media site. He claimed that the video, if uploaded on social media, will defame her. He then abused and threatened her.Later, he was taken to the police station. Outgoing senior inspector Girisha Nimbalkar of Deccan Gymkhana police told TOI, “He was overpowered by the other constables at the spot and was taken to the police station. After conducting an inquiry, we served him a notice asking him to cooperate with the investigations”.
