Bengaluru: A morning walk to work turned into an ordeal for a 25-year-old woman in Nayandahalli in west Bengaluru after two bike-borne miscreants snatched and fled with her gold mangalya chain, worth over Rs 7.5 lakh, Wednesday.The victim, Shivaranjini, works at a fuel station along the Metro Layout railway underpass road. Around 8am, two miscreants on a black motorcycle approached her from behind. The pillion rider, wearing a red jacket, put his hand on her chest and tried to yank away her two-strand gold mangalya chain weighing around 55g. She held onto it tightly. But the miscreant managed to pull it away and ride on with his accomplice.She immediately raised an alarm and ran behind the motorcycle. Passersby alerted police. Shivaranjini, who ended up with severe pain in her neck, went to a hospital with her husband before approaching the cops. She told police neither suspect was wearing a helmet and she could identify them if seen again. A case has been registered under BNS section 309 (robbery).
