Patna: Rajnagar MLA and Bihar BJP Scheduled Caste (SC) Morcha president Sujit Paswan has been invited to serve as an international public election observer for the parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation, scheduled to be held from Sept 18 to 20.According to a press communique, the invitation was extended by the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, which invited elected representatives, international experts and civil society representatives from various countries to observe the electoral process.As part of the assignment, Paswan will join foreign observers and civil society representatives at the Situation Centre in Moscow to monitor and observe the State Duma election proceedings.Paswan described the invitation as an honour for Bihar and the Mithila region, saying it was an opportunity to represent India’s democratic values on an international platform. He attributed the recognition to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the guidance of the BJP and the support of the people of Rajnagar and Bihar.He also expressed gratitude to the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, its chairperson Lidia Mikheeva, the Centre for International Interaction and Cooperation (CIIC), and external affairs minister S Jaishankar.
