Kota: An 18-and-a-half-year-old JEE aspirant from Bihar died late Saturday after allegedly jumping from the Kota-Jhalawar flyover in the Vigyan Nagar police station area, police said.The student, identified as Jaishree, a resident of Raniganj in Bihar’s Araria district, was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries but died during treatment shortly after.Circle Inspector Mukesh Meena of Vigyan Nagar police station said the incident took place around 11 pm. Police initially suspect suicide, but no note was recovered from her possession, he said.Jaishree, a Class 12 student, had come to Kota in January this year to prepare for the Joint Entrance Examination at a coaching institute and was living in a paying guest accommodation in Vigyan Nagar.Meena said her parents have been informed and are yet to reach Kota. The body has been kept in the mortuary, and the post-mortem will be conducted after their arrival.Police said they will examine her academic background, circumstances at the PG accommodation and the sequence of events before she left on Saturday night. Further action will depend on the investigation and the statement of her parents.This is the seventh suspected suicide by a coaching student in Kota this year.
