Patna, Bihar Education minister Mithilesh Kumar Tiwari objected to the need for agitation by female teaching job aspirants, claiming that the “government is standing firm in support of their rights”.
A large number of BPSC Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE)-4 candidates, including women, held a demonstration in Patna on Friday against the delay in notifying the recruitment exam.
The BPSC TRE 4.0 exam in Bihar, which is expected to fill above 46,000 posts, stands delayed from its initial deadline of April 2026.
On the question of women protestors being baton-charged by male cops, the state Education minister said on Saturday, “What is the need for agitation. Our daughters are our strength and the bedrock of the nation’s prosperity. Why do they need to come out on the streets when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is himself in support of Nari Shakti Vandan (respect to women’s power).”
