Bengaluru: Around 30 residents of a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Koramangala approached Viveknagar police Saturday, alleging poor living conditions, frequent power disruptions and inadequate maintenance at the facility.The residents of the Hyphen Sprout PG in Cauvery Colony alleged that they had been facing frequent electricity interruptions, unreliable WiFi, elevator breakdowns and severe cockroach infestation. They also raised concerns over the maintenance and hygiene of the drinking-water and water-tank facilities.Following a call from the residents, Vivek Nagar police visited the PG and spoke to them. Police officials asked the residents to lodge a formal complaint if they wanted action to be initiated.Residents said the unreliable internet connection had particularly affected those working remotely and dependent on stable connectivity. “Despite repeated complaints and communications, the property management has frequently failed to provide proper responses or timely resolutions. Residents are often unable to obtain effective assistance from the property managers for basic and essential services,” said Kumar Mayank, a resident.He also alleged that the drinking-water and water-tank facilities were not cleaned or maintained regularly. Residents claimed they had spotted insects and other crawling organisms inside the water tank, raising concerns over the hygiene and safety of the water supplied to them.The residents said they had repeatedly brought the issues to the attention of the property management but alleged that their complaints had not been adequately addressed. The PG management is yet to react on the issue.
