Jhargram: “People of Bengal know that the state’s development will happen from Bengal itself, not from Gujarat,” said Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in an X post on Monday. Soren, who campaigned in Bengal for the third straight day, addressed rallies in Bankura and Jhargram.Soren’s post read: “The people of Bengal will vote cautiously, guarding against the deceitful and plundering BJP, to protect their culture and civilisation.”Soren could not campaign in Jhargram on Sunday after his helicopter was delayed with the area being a no-fly zone due to PM Narendra Modi’s visit. While Soren did not speak on the incident, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday evening claimed “non-cooperation from central agencies” was hampering her travel plans during the poll season and alleged that her flight was held up for 30 minutes.Addressing a rally in Kolkata, she said, “Today I was held up on the runway for half an hour on my way back. Yesterday, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s helicopter was stopped at Jhargram for 40 minutes.”“I think chief ministers should always get some priority. But here, some aviation officials seem to have forgotten that,” Banerjee told the rally in Belaghata.
